Bento

Now in beta at UIUC

The dining hall,
figured out.

Bento reads tomorrow's menu while you sleep and builds every plate around your goals, your diet, and your allergies. You just show up and eat.

How it works

Set it once. Eat well every day.

  1. 1

    Tell it what you're after

Your goal, what you eat, what you can't. Two minutes, and you never do it again.

  2. 2

    It does the homework

Every night, Bento reads tomorrow's menu and labels at your halls and builds your plates.

  3. 3

    Grab and go

Open it on the way in: what to get, how much, and which line to hit first.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is it free?

Totally free during the beta.

Is this from the university?

Nope. Bento is built by a UIUC student and isn't affiliated with University Housing or Dining. It just reads the menus Dining already posts.

What about allergies?

Anything labeled with your allergens stays off your plate. Labels can miss things and kitchens share equipment, so double-check with staff if it's serious.

I don't eat every meal at the dining hall.

No problem. Tell Bento which meals you eat elsewhere and it plans the rest of your day around them.
