Nutrition disclaimer

Bento suggests meals from the dining hall's posted menu. It is a planning tool, not medical or dietetic advice, and it does not replace a doctor or registered dietitian.
Where the numbers come from
Calories, macros, and allergen icons come from University of Illinois Dining's EatSmart labels. Bento is not affiliated with or endorsed by University Housing or Dining. Labels can be incomplete or wrong, recipes and portions change, and what you actually scoop will differ from a label serving.
Allergies
If you list an allergy, Bento leaves out foods whose labels show it. A missing icon does not mean a food is free of that allergen, and dining-hall kitchens share equipment, so cross-contact is possible. If an allergy is serious, confirm every food with dining staff before you eat it.
Health conditions
If you are pregnant, have diabetes, kidney disease, an eating disorder or a history of one, or any condition affected by what you eat, talk to a clinician before following any meal plan, including this one.
Support
- Eating disorders: the ANAD helpline, (888) 375-7767 (Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–9 p.m. Central; anad.org).
- Any time, day or night: call or text 988, or text HOME to 741741 for the Crisis Text Line.
- UIUC students: McKinley Health Center has dietitians, and the Counseling Center (217-333-3704, weekdays 8 a.m.–5 p.m.) is free. Nights and weekends, call 988.
- In an emergency or after an allergic reaction, call 911.
Targets
Calorie and protein targets are estimates from standard formulas. They have floors and limits built in, but your needs may differ. Stop and get help if a plan leaves you hungry, unwell, or anxious about food.
